A new Florida law targeting so-called "super speeders" is now in effect.
It imposes tougher penalties on drivers caught going 50 miles per hour or more over the speed limit or driving recklessly at 100 miles per hour or faster.
First-time offenders could be fined 500-dollars and spend up to 30 days in jail, or both.
Repeat offenders risk a $1,000 dollar fine and up to 90 days behind bars.
Speeders caught too often could lose their driver license for up to a year.
