Former Boca Raton Mayor Susan Haynie arrives in court at the Palm Beach County Courthouse in West Palm Beach, Thursday, April 1, 2021. Haynie pleaded guilty to two misdemeanors: misuse of public office, and failure to disclose a voting conflict.

Former Boca Raton Mayor Susan Haynie pleaded guilty Thursday to charges arising out of a public corruption case that ended her long political career.

Yet with her plea deal she shook off all four felony corruption counts that were filed at the time of her stunning arrest three years ago. She no longer stands accused of concealing hundreds of thousands of dollars in income, including money from prominent city developers.

The end result is convictions on two first-degree misdemeanors and 12 months of probation. Haynie, 65, pleaded guilty to misuse of public office, and failure to disclose a voting conflict.
