In 2018, the year the Boy Scouts permitted girls to join, 10-year-old Emily Mayol joined Miami Beach Troop 65. She was the first girl to join the local Cub Scouts program, Scouting America’s entry-level youth program. Victoria Parra joined the same Miami Beach troop in 2019. Now they have reached Scouting’s highest achievement: Eagle Scout, making them the first female Scouts in Troop 65’s 50-year history.
