Florida Senate Minority Leader Lori Berman is demanding Florida Attorney James Uthmeier respond to a range of questions she raises about the state’s “Alligator Alcatraz” immigration detention center in the Everglades.

She was disappointed in Sen. Jason Pizzo’s resignation from the party last week, says it’s time to move on.

Among the reasons for the rejection of the Holocaust Memorial proposal by Sen. Lori Berman, D-Boca Raton, was that the nearby site has the “structural integrity” to handle the added weight of the memorial and other planned monuments.
