The longtime PBS series Great Performances turns its focus to the young artists behind the New World Symphony on Miami Beach. The first episode of Chasing Crescendos releases Wednesday afternoon on Great Performances digital platforms.

In the documentary, “Status: Venezuelan,” the filmmaker follows a family in Doral — home to the largest Venezuelan diaspora in the U.S. — as they struggle to remain united and legal amidst the policy turbulence.

"My hope is that this piece will bring joy and inspiration to many people, just as Mister Rogers' Neighborhood did for generations," sculptor Paul Day says.
