Today’s The Deadline To Register To Vote in Florida

The last day to register to vote in Florida is Tuesday, Oct. 9.

Oct. 9 is the last day to register in the state of Florida if you want to vote in the Nov. 6 general elections. It is also the last day to change your address if you have moved since the last time you’ve voted.

Floridians will vote on the next state governor, Florida U.S. Senate seat, the state’s U.S. House seats and other local positions.

To register online you'll have to follow these steps:

  • You will need to visit registertovoteflorida.gov
  • You will need your Florida Driver’s License or identification card
  • You will need the issue date of the license or ID card
  • You will need the last four numbers of your security number

To register by phone you will have to call:

  • In Miami-Dade County 305-499-8683  
  • In Broward County 954- 357-7050
  • In Palm Beach County 561- 656-6200
  • In Monroe County 305 -292-3416

If you don’t want to apply online or by calling another option is to register at a Florida driver’s license office, a tax collector’s office or through a voter registration agency like a public library.

Note: If you are a Florida resident that lives in areas affected by Hurricane Michael the state has extended the deadline to register. Read more: Florida Will Allow Some Voters To Register Past Deadline.

To see if you are qualified to vote, this is the criteria:

  • You are a U.S. citizen
  • You are a legal resident of Florida
  • You are at least 18 years old
  • You are not a convicted felon
  • You have not had your rights taken away because of mental health issues
