The Palm Beach Post

Three recent confirmed cases of hepatitis A in Palm Beach County have brought its total for the year to 29, as reported by The Palm Beach Post.

The number of confirmed cases in the county now stands at more than double its total for all of 2018. The Florida Department of Health posted the most recent case to its website Saturday.

Palm Beach is one of several local counties that have been designated as high-risk zones for the virus. As of June 22, four deaths this year in Martin County have been attributed to complications from hepatitis A, where confirmed cases now total 24. The latest statistics from health officials also show 21 confirmed cases in St. Lucie, four in Okeechobee and one in Indian River, making a total of 79 from Boca Raton to Okeechobee and Sebastian.
