How To Get Around With Public Transit During Basel

igougo.com

At a roundtable arts engagement event at Locust Projects recently, the conversation inevitably turned to Art Basel and its effect on Miami both as a city and as developer of the arts scene. The chat touched on the blossoming street-art hub of Wynwood, and how there is a tangible sense that Miami is starting to matter in the arts world.

It would have been a positive, maybe even an uplifting conversation, if it was not filled with undertones of frustration.

As it happens, when viewed through the context of Art Basel week, all the locals wanted to talk about was the nightmarish traffic that makes getting around all but impossible.  Some art lovers confessed that issue itself is a reason not to attend major events.

As one man put it: “We don’t have Basel.  Basel has us.”

Well, we at WLRN have determined to make it as easy as possible for you to get around on public transit.  Even if the bus gets slowed down, at least you won’t have to freak out.  You might even get a chance to enjoy the murals that you are usually too frustrated to appreciate.

If you want to be extra sure not to get stuck in traffic, you can take the Metrorail from as far south as Dadeland North or as far north as Okeechobee.  But make sure to check the times before you go off on a partying tangent.

Our bus guide is broken down by neighborhood.  Click on the Route to find times, connecting bus routes, and exact pick-up and drop-off locations.
