WLRN News Team Wins 14 Florida News Awards

'Unmute Yourself!', a story about the difficulties and occasional absurdities of public comment during the pandemic, won for Team Coverage during this year's Florida News Awards.

WLRN earned 14 awards in the statewide radio category, including 11 winners and four finalists, for stories produced in 2020 during the Florida News Awards virtual ceremony on Saturday.

The Florida Association of Broadcast Journalists administers the awards. Two members of the newsroom achieved individual honors. For the second consecutive year, Katie Lepri was named top digital journalist, and Jenny Staletovich won the prize for best writing.
