As a result of ongoing emergency efforts at the Champlain Towers South site, Collins Avenue, Harding Avenue, and the northbound lanes on Byron Avenue from 85th to 90th Street and the southbound lanes on Harding Avenue have been temporarily closed.

Several events have been postponed/canceled:
The Tennis Center, Surfside Community Center, and Hawthorne Tot Lot are closed today. The Town of Surfside stated that an announcement regarding next week’s schedule will be released shortly.
Additionally, all Surfside Community Center activities have been canceled through Tuesday, July 6.
According to the town of Surfside website, “This includes Jr. Lifeguard Camp Session 1, Aqua Zumba, pool recreational and lap swimming, the Tennis Center as well as all Zoom classes.”
The COVID-19 pop up vaccination event at Town Hall scheduled for June 27 has been postponed.
This weekend’s Surfside LGBTQ+ Pride events have been canceled. This includes the rainbow kite flying event scheduled for Saturday, June 26 and the Surfside Farmers Market on Sunday June 7.
