The study, commissioned by a coalition of South Florida funders, analyzed more than 1,400 grants to 262 nonprofits and included interviews with local leaders to better understand “how funding resources flow into South Dade and how well they meet local needs.”

“Give Miami Day” reported a record day of fundraising this year, with almost $44 million donated to more than 1,400 nonprofit organizations in greater Miami. Last year, they raised $39.5 million.

The Miami Foundation is hosting its 14th annual “Give Miami Day” next Thursday to help boost the finances of more than 1,400 non-profit organizations in greater Miami.

The annual fundraiser represents the nonprofit agency’s largest annual initiative “to help build a thriving Greater Miami.”

The Miami Foundation and Achieve Miami announced the Miami Connected initiative at a press conference this past Monday. The program will bring two years of free broadband connectivity to more than a 100,000 students in Miami-Dade County.
