Mayor Dave Kerner held on to his Palm Beach County district 3 commission seat, based on unofficial results Tuesday night.
Kerner, county's mayor, defeated Republican challenger Jonathan Maples with about 61% to the 31% received by Maples. District 3 includes parts of Lake Worth Beach, Lantana, and Boynton Beach.
Mayor Kerner has been the default face of the COVID-19 pandemic response for the county including efforts to educate the community about health and economic measures.
