WLRN News InternAnthony Cruz is a Fall 2025 WLRN intern and a senior at Florida International University. Born and raised in Miami, Cruz hopes to tell stories that make an impact on his community. A first-generation Cuban American, Cruz has been interested in local news since high school. He has been involved with FIU’s Caplin News both on-air and in the production room since June 2023. Cruz has also reported from the halls of Congress as an intern with Punchbowl News. Cruz is also a lifelong South Florida sports fan.
