Africa with Ade Adepitan

7pm - In this first episode Ade sets out on a mission to change people's preconceptions of Africa: the continent is made up of almost fifty different countries, with complex cultures, people, food and languages, and there is beauty and diversity to be found everywhere. Beginning in the city of his birth, Lagos in Nigeria, Ade travels from West Africa through Central and Eastern Africa before journeying to the south. Along the way, he reveals how modern Africa is changing, and explores where its future may be headed.

8pm - Ade starts off the coast of Gabon, looking for humpback whales. It's one of Africa's best spots for seeing them, thanks to Gabon's vast marine sanctuaries. Next up is perhaps the most chaotic and corrupt country in Africa: the Democratic Republic of Congo. Ade discovers first-hand how everyone from the traffic cops to the country's top politicians are on the take.
